About New Build Leak Detection

New Build Leak Detection, a specialist service from ADI Leak Detection. The office you call, the engineer who comes to the plot and the company named on the report are all ADI.

The firm behind the survey

Adrian founded ADI Leak Detection in 2011 as a dedicated leak detection business, when opening up was still the usual way to find a leak, and he was quick to adopt non-invasive methods. Under him it grew from a local service into a national company. Since his death, ADI Leak Solutions Ltd has carried the business on with the same name and principles, led by managing director Monique Dray, who has more than ten years with the company.

There are now more than twenty-five ADI leak investigation engineers across England, Scotland and Wales. Booking, scheduling, reports and questions from owners and developers go through the office in High Wycombe. ADI states that all its engineers are qualified, registered plumbers, and that it does not do general plumbing or repair roofs and building fabric.

ADI’s website mentions more than a thousand five-star Trustpilot reviews. The independent profile read 4.7 from 1600+ reviews when we looked on 14 September 2026.

Why new build homes need specialist leak detection

A new home leaks in its own ways. The pipes are plastic with push-fit joints, the heating is often buried in the floor, everything is sealed behind fresh plasterboard and screed, and a builder and a warranty sit in the picture alongside the owner. The questions change with it: will this wreck my new floor, who pays, will the builder accept the report, can you come out before the plot is handed over.

New Build Leak Detection gathers those answers for owners, builders and warranty providers. Some of ADI's engineers came to leak detection from new build plumbing, one of them after fifteen years fitting out new homes. The service, the engineers and the terms are ADI’s.

Arranging the visit to your home

Start by calling the office about the house, the symptoms and how the engineer can get in. They will match an investigation to the problem, quote it and book the engineer, then follow the visit through and send the report. If the builder, the warranty provider or your insurer has questions about the findings, the office can answer them.

“Hamaad from ADI was great. He was very thorough with his work and communicated everything very clearly. He was able to locate the leak and provided a detailed report that could be shared with my insurer. He went above and beyond to answer questions about my insurance claim from both me and my insurer. I'd highly recommend their services.”

“We had a major water leak of approximately 220 litres per hour and, with a holiday booked only a few days later, we urgently needed someone to find and repair it. […] Frank arrived at our house. He was extremely polite, professional and clearly very experienced. He quickly set up the equipment, carried out a tracer gas test and pinpointed the leak to an area just outside our garage underneath the driveway. […] The whole job, from arriving at our house to finding and repairing a 220 litre-per-hour leak, was completed in around three hours.”
